Head of Policy and Projects at Cambridge City Council
I am very pleased that you are interested in the post of Head of Policy and Projects at the City Council. The post is a very important one for the authority and I am keen to appoint someone who has the drive, ability and commitment to secure the objectives of the City Council and to take the Service forward into the next decade.
Cambridge is at a crucial stage in its history. We are beginning to implement major growth plans. At the same time the City Council is developing a climate change strategy and action plan to reduce carbon emissions per person in the city by 90% in 2050 (from 2005 levels). At the heart of these changes we want a truly sustainable city, where the special quality of life that exists here is not lost, and the benefits of growth are secured for the whole city.
There is a strong team of officers at the City Council and the culture of the office is friendly and supportive. The post has varied responsibilities, and the task is demanding, but if you enjoy a challenge then the role will be rewarding both professionally and personally.
